Origins of Shadower
Shadower has been rendered twice, once as a short story (Train 67) and a novella of the same title, neither published (although the former was posted on several forums). All versions, the current included, differ greatly in events and characters, but the plot structure hasn't changed much.

The title Shadower refers to the theme of "that which follows" present in the lives of the book's principle four characters.

Shadower is by far my most personal work.

Train 67
The original short story, Train 67 was written on the real Amtrak train 67 in December, 2005. This plot has been cut from the book completely, however.

Setting Changes
Each version has seen changes in setting. The original took place in Raritan, New Jersey. This version takes place in Burlington, Vermont. The changes were made so I could keep the story as close to my emotional center as possible.

THE SHADOWER

Three of the four principle characters from left to right: Hope, Dario, and Sara. Artwork by Joodlez.

Originally written as a short story in 2005, Shadower is a fictitious novel following the stories of four adolescents whose futures hinge on overcoming the mistakes of their parents. When Dario’s choices take him furthest from his friends, he suddenly finds himself cast into a world of secrets and mortal peril. Alienated from his family and faced with a future of chilling certainty, Dario and his friends must find redemption in themselves and each other as their trials clash them together and drive them apart. Yet, with the looming specter of fate as their shadower, can they find the reconciliation they seek?

Since the book is incomplete, the best place to get information on it is in my blog.
